Achievement.
While KIPP Academy of Opportunity's students typically enroll performing two to three years below grade level, our students make dramatic gains across all subjects, meeting our high expectations for them and proving what is possible for all students. KIPP Academy of Opportunity students in 2010-11 outperformed their peers’ averages across LAUSD in all subjects, as measured by the California Standards Tests (CST).

The Academic Performance Index (API) measures the performance of California schools, based on how well each school performs on the California Standards Tests (CST). The scale ranges from 200 to 1000. Based on 2011 API scores, KAO outperformed 80 percent of public middle schools in Los Angeles Unified School District, as well as all neighboring public middle schools.

High School Placement.
At KAO, high school preparation and placement programs ensure that each student goes on to a college-preparatory high school where he or she will thrive. In yet another indication of our students' exceptional achievement, KAO’s eighth graders have been accepted to top college-preparatory independent day, parochial, boarding, public charter, and public magnet schools across Los Angeles and the state.
