Senator Bria had a very busy day!!!!!
January 21, 2009
Today was a very busy day, we went four different places. The first place we went to was Rayburn Congressional Offices. We did a mock confirmation hearing in the Education and Labor Committee room with Representative McKeon. McKeon is pretty much mostly about education and students going to school as early as possible. Also he wants to make sure students get a good education. We got to ask Representative McKeon questions. At the beginning when we first got there he asked us a couple of questions. We all had great questions! We all had fun pretending to be Representatives.
The second place we went was to Episcopal High School. Episcopal is a boarding school in Alexandria Virginia. Episcopal was very enjoyable. My tour guide's name was Carly. She showed the fifth and sixth graders around the school. When I get home I will tell my parents about Episcopal because I'd either like to find a school like it in LA, or maybe think about coming out here for high school.
After we left from Episcopal High School we went to the Crime and Punishment Museum. The first thing we did at the Crime and Punishment Museum was to find out which suspect matches the finger and shoe prints in a CSI Lab. This lab is where they film America's Most Wanted every week. We also made the shoe print dry up and get hard. We then went up stairs to solve a crime, it was very challenging. However I still had fun!!
Next, we met up with the founder of Lovecafe and also the founder of Cakelove. He told us how he quit being a lawyer after two years to start his business. He has six Cakeloves around the area and one Lovecafe (which is only in Washington, D.C.). He told us a lot about his self. We also ate dinner at Lovecafe and had desert there too. We had CATS time there and we also gave him praise.
I had lots of fun while being very busy today.
