History is Revolutionary

Team and Family in the back of the US Capital. We'll see President Obama here on Wednesday.

Today everything we saw had a little part of history in it. For example at Georgetown University one of the oldest buildings on their campus was made from stone and had a very old looking structure sort of like a castle. This building is called Healy Hall and was named after Patrick Healy, their first Black college president.
Also today we visited Capitol Hill which was surrounded by The US Capitol, The Supreme Court, and The Library of Congress. The Library of Congress was one of the oldest buildings there and is used to hold information on laws so that the congress can just walk across the street if they needed information on a law.
As we went around The Capitol Building we saw 250,000 chairs outside, as they got ready for the Inauguration. I was wondering as I stood there who would be having these seats, celebrities, etc? Not us, we will be on the mall.
The last place we went today was The Air and Space Museum and it told us all about how to fly a plane, everything you wanted to know about space stations and former pilots, like Bessie Coleman. We learned how she was a leader. She was a leader because of how she followed her dream and didn't let anything get in her way or stop her.
Make sure you log on again tomorrow to learn more about my exciting day in Washington D.C.

Hey, Dan, since you are responsible for telling us what happening in Washington, I thought I would give you info on what's happening at home. Your brothers went to the movies to see Notorious. Mike thought it was great. Donovan was not impressed. Philadelphia lost their chance to go to the Super Bowl, you'll be happy to hear that the Pittsburgh Steelers (your team) will be going. I've watched CNN everyday since you left, waiting to see the story on you guys. I've gotten tons of calls from well-wishers, hoping that you are having fun out there. Everyone has asked about the weather. Keep us posted on your activities. We miss you terriibly, but are extremely proud of you. I'll be waiting for your call tonight. Talk to you later, baby. I love you.
