KIPP ACADEMY OF OPPORTUNITY: JENNIFER HEIKKILA DIAZ
8th grade Supply List 2010-2011
2015 ELA Summer Homework
Dear rising seniors:
There are two summer assignments for ELA, both of which are due the first day of school in September. Since these are the first two tasks that you have for my class, I expect that they will be done to the best of your ability. That way, I have an accurate sense of where you are starting the school year as a reader, writer, and thinker.
***BOTH ASSIGNMENTS ARE POSTED AS LINKS BELOW THIS LETTER.***
Please make sure that you follow all of the directions.
Assignment #1: Complete the reading log for one book from the given lists (see assignment for how to select your book). Please complete your reading log in BLACK ink pen. (Make sure that the ink is what you would use to complete a job application or legal document.) If you need additional space, you may set up a lined sheet of paper in a similar manner, and continue the log until the end of your text.
Assignment #2: Answer all of the provided high school application questions. Please make sure you either type or write your answers in BLACK ink pen. (Make sure that the ink is what you would use to complete a job application or legal document.) It is important that you take the time to be detailed and thoughtful in your responses, as these are typical questions asked on both written applications and during interviews.
If you have any questions, please contact me via phone (323.810.0784) or e-mail (jdiaz@kippkao.org).
I look forward to receiving your assignments and beginning our work together in August.
