Becoming Master Readers

Classroom Goals

Students in my class will develop good reading habits that will help us to be successful at KAO, in high school, college, and the competitive world beyond!  This will take a lot of hard work: 2.5 hours of literacy everyday, homework every night and on the weekends, work packets over the long break, and giving 100% effort every day!  

Reading Goals

Each student will read 20 or more independent reading books. By reading for please and completing all in class reading, each student in my ELA class will read at least one million words during the school year. Research shows that the number of words that a student reads has a greater impact on their reading level over all other types of ELA activities.
