Washington, D.C. Comes to Me

January 16, 2009

When I arrived at the airport I was so excited. I just really couldn't wait.  At first I was tired, but then I woke up with all the excitement. As we walked to the lobby I saw one of the planes. As soon as I saw it, I began to become nervous. Elexis, and Erin reassured me that once I got on it, the nervousness would slide right off of me. As we  began to write in the terminal, some flight attendents walked by and said I wish they were on our flight. It made me feel like I was right at home because I'm the baby.

When we got on the plane they were right I wasn't scared or nervous anymore. At sometimes it felt like we were falling!  Basically every other 15 minutes we would check the Google map on our screens to see how many miles until we would arrive in D.C. Every time we checked we found out we were nowhere near it! In the back of the seats there were televisions. We had the chance to watch tv, muisic videos, and listen to music. Virgin America has to be the best airline that I know of. The flight attendents were so nice. And got you every thing you ordered in a low amount of time.

When we got off of the plane we caught a bus, then a tram twice actuallly, and then we walked to Mary's house. Which was a long 5 blocks. As soon as we got into the house the first pesron I saw was Mary. And the I saw the 2 dogs. They reminded me so much of my dog Kendow. Their cat really liked me.

For dinner we had pizza and pasta. The pizza was circular. The pizza's made differently here. It's made with the cheese on the bottom of the sauce. Even with that big differences it tasted the same. So I felt llike I was at home, which was good for me, since I didn't get home sick.

Check back and read tomorrow about my learning in DC!

Hi LaQuoia, So happy to hear you are having a great time and that you have conquered your fear of flying. I remember the first time I saw a TV on a long flight. It certainly made the time fly by faster (pun intended). I'm looking forward to your blogs, especially the one Tuesday night. Say hello to everyone. Here's a helpful hint, always make sure Mr. G has some coffee in the morning. He'll usually say yes to whatever request you make. Take care, stay bundled. Your bestest most favorite teacher in the world. Mr. J
