The Chronological Events of My First Day
January 16, 2009
At LAX Airport, going through security was easy. I think I've been through enough security checks to know what and what not to bring through the metal detecter. At that moment I was excited because I had never flown on a Virgin Airlines airplane. I heard it was the best way to travel around the country.
On the plane, I met two new people. They were strangers but they were nice to me. We spoke about life in DC and everything they said wouldn't affect the time I would be spending here except the weather. In Los Angeles, the weather is usually 80 degrees and when I came here, it was 20 degrees. I knew it was gonna be cold but not that cold.
The inside of the plane had a screen on the back of every seat that you could talk to all of your friends with. I got to speak to a few people but not everyone that came on the trip. Besides talking to friends, I got to watch television on the same screen I used to chat. A few problems occured on the plane. My screen froze but as time went by, I learned to ignore it.
When we arrived in DC, we had to get to the place we were going to be staying throughout the trip. We first took a bus to the Metro station, took a Metro train to the bus stop. We missed the first bus and the house was six blocks away so we could wait for the next bus or walk. Everyone decided to walk because we would get to the place the same time if we waited for the bus to come. The weather was already cold but since it was night time, the weather was even colder. My arms became sore from carrying my suit case. We even had to make several stops on the way because the light was red.
Around 9 o’clock, we arrived at our final destination for the day. At the house, we got ready to go to sleep after we wrote our blogs.
Thank you Virgin Airlines for paying for our trip and a thank you to the two ladies on the plane for believing that I can do great things in my future as well as my teammates.
Please read my blogs every night by going on our school website.
