KIPP LA Prep students typically enroll in our school performing two to three years below grade level. After four years at KIPP LA Prep, these student make dramatic gains across all subjects, as measured by the SAT-10, a nationally-administered, norm-referenced test.

The Academic Performance Index measures the performance of California schools, based on how well each school does on various standardized tests. The scale ranges from 200 to 1000. Based on 2009 API score, KIPP LA Prep ranked seventh among all middle schools in LAUSD and outperformed all neighboring public middle schools.
