Support KIPP LA

In 2007-08, California ranked 47th out of 50 states and DC in per-pupil funding. With recent budget cuts, the funding environment has only gotten worse.
 

As public charter schools, KIPP LA’s schools receive funds from federal, state, and local government. Unfortunately, due in part to California’s low level of funding for schools, public dollars do not fully cover the cost of running KIPP LA’s schools, leaving us with a significant shortfall that must be covered by private philanthropy. We rely on the support of generous individuals, foundations, and corporations to close our annual funding gap, so we can continue to provide our students the excellent college-preparatory education deserve.

Contributions.

Your dollars help ensure that our 930 KIPPsters will receive art, music, daily PE, and end-of-year field lessons, and the academic preparation and emotional support they need to successfully “climb the mountain” to and through college. A gift of…

• $25,000 will fund the summer school program at one KIPP LA school for one year
• $10,000 will underwrite the cost of purchasing eight laptops for KIPP LA students to use during class
• $5,000 will pay for 10 KIPP LA students to attend a year-end science field lesson in Utah’s national parks
• $1,000 will fund a college campus field trip or high school visit for 30 seventh and eighth grade students
• $500 will help equip our schools’ science labs
• $250 will help our schools purchase essential school supplies
