KIPP LA offers 3 options for medical plans:

  • Blue Shield of CA HMO
  • Different premium rate applies on Blue Shield of CA PPO

Life Insurance

All full-time regular employees receive a $50K life insurance policy through The Hartford.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

All employees have access to the KIPP LA EAP. KIPP LA Schools offers a graduated matching 401(k) Retirement Plan. We will match at the outlined rate if the employee meets or exceeds his or her contributions at the outlined rate:

  • Level 0: 100% up to 2% of compensation
  • Level 1: 100% up to 3% of compensation
  • Level 2: 100% up to 4% of compensation
  • Level 3+: 100% up to 6% of compensation

For eligible employees that DO participate in the California State Teachers Retirement System (“STRS”) and will be teaching at KIPP Los Angeles Preparatory, the matching formula will be as follows:

  • Level 0: No matching contribution
  • Level 1: 100% up to 1% of compensation
  • Level 2: 100% up to 2% of compensation
  • Level 3+: 100% up to 3% of compensation

Vesting

Your contributions are always 100% vested. The matching contributions made by KIPP LA Schools are subject to the following vesting schedule:

Vacation

Employees accrue up to 10 days of paid vacation per year.

Sick Time

Employees accrue up to 8 days of paid sick time per year.

Jury Duty Time Off

Employees accrue up to 5 days of paid jury duty time off.

Bereavement Time Off

Employees will be granted up to 5 days of paid bereavement leave.
