YES WE CAN!
January 20, 2009
Millions of Citizens.
Today I was so excited I can't even explain! My heart was jumping out of my chest. I know this is the day that will change American history. I know this is the day that no one thought would happen. I know this is the day that I will always remember. I know this is the day that I will tell my kids and their kids, and many generations more. I know this is the day that African Americans have been waiting for. I know this is the day us as Americans made a change!!!
When I arrived there, I was so full of amazement. I was actually at the first African American Inauguration. It is so cool to be apart of this historic event. I can actually say I was there! When I was there everyone's emotions were all over the place. People were yelling, crying, laughing, smiling, and much more. This is one of the most beautiful days of my life. It was so inspiring. When I heard those words of Obama getting sworn in I was just so happy. We have the first black president in the Whitehouse.
Yes we can make a change! Yes we can be a millionaire! Yes we can be famous! Yes we can go to college! Yes we can accomplish what we want to! Yes we can achieve the goals we want to! I believe we can do all of this because our new Presidenet Obama has!

RUSH HOUR!
January 18, 2009
Wow today was all about TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC! When we woke up, we all got ready for the day. Then we went to the metro that is when it all started when we got there it started to get crowded, but it wasn't as bad yet.
Then we got off the Metro, it was amazing how many people were selling Obama stuff. There were at least thirty people doing it outside the Metro, but we were just going right across the street. Then when we arrived, the line was as long as the whole building so we decided to go to Starbucks.
It was even crowded there. Then we went back to the Metro to go to the Holocaust Museum. I learned how badly Jews were treated and how unfairly. Its crazy how many people died in the Holocaust. It was so sad for me. There was a lot of traffic there too. Then we went to the Metro to go home. We could barely fit in the train! I was glad when we got out! Finally, we went to eat and I got full.

HISTORY!
January 17, 2009
Washington, DC is filled with so much history. Today I experienced so much of that. It's amazing how old things are in Washington DC. We started off today going to Georgetown University. It is one of the oldest universities in DC, but yet it is still a great and exciting school to be at. In one of the buildings there are these steps that thirteen pesidents have walked like Abraham Lincoln. So I had a great time experiencing the history at Georgetown University!
We then went to the Capital Hill. We saw the US Capital, that is where the members of congress make laws. We also saw the Supreme Court that is where you change laws, and people can bring their case to the supreme court if they don't like what a judge's choice was in their own state. Lastly we saw the Library of Congress that is where law books are. So Congress, when they need help understanding a law, they could just go right across the street. Nowadays, they can just use the internet. Then we went in the back of the US Capital where Barack Obama is going to say his speech Tuesday. It was incredible how many people were there even when the inauguration wasn't happening yet, so many people were just taking pictures.
Lastly we finally went to the Air and Space museum. This is a place where you can learn about planes and rockets, etc. first started out. There were a lot of famous and great people who made planes and flew them, but I hadn't found one African American yet. Then we went to a section where they had lots of black people that flew a lot of planes. This is great history because without planes it would be hard to get to far away distances. I had a great day with HISTORY!
I CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE HISTORY TOMORROW!

A Long Day
January 16, 2009
Yesterday I had a fun, but long day. First we started by taking a plane from
I can't believe how nice the flight attendants were. The Virgin America flight was by far the best plane I have ever been on.
Next we took the bus to the Metro station that was the best transportation ride ever. I was like a famous person on that bus because everyone was talking to me, including the three beautiful ladies that kept my lips moving on our long ride. It was so awesome.
After that we went on the Metro train, it was completely different than I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be dirty and crowded, but instead it was clean and quiet I enjoyed it when we were in the tunnel going so fast. That is what you call a nice ride. Finally, the best part of all was when we walked about a mile to get to the house. We got our food and got full, then went to bed.
I can’t wait to see what's going to happen tomorrow!
